How bug catching works and where to find all bugs in Yokohama

There are bugs all over the city.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The bugs you capture in Yakuza: Like a Dragon are beneficial for you to catch because you’ll need those to create the weapons and gear your characters wear in the game. The best gear you can give your characters comes from the Romance Workshop, and neglecting to find these items can make it difficult to progress through the game, especially on a harder difficulty. Luckily, bug catching is pretty simple, but finding all bugs can be difficult.

How bug catching works

Bug catching is pretty straightforward. You don’t have to use any special equipment or do any mini-game to capture the bugs. It works much like finding materials randomly in the street. There will be a bright, shiny object on the ground, and when you pick it up, it might be a bug. A majority of the shiny interactable icons you can grab on trees, in bushes, and the grass will be a bug. It does vary, but it is random. There are some bugs you can find in more locations than others.

Where to find all bugs

These are all of the bugs in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and where you can find them.

  • Homeless area
  • Parking garage
  • Fukutoku Park
  • Hamakita Park
  • Jinnai Station
  • Koreatown
  • North Jinnai Station
  • Chinatown

Alternatively, if you’re having trouble finding these bugs, you can also acquire many of them from the Can Quest. You will need to participate in the Can Quest mini-game multiple times to earn enough points to buy them, but if you’d rather directly purchase them than randomly finding them in the world, this is a good way to do it.

Some of the best bugs you can find, the silver and gold ones, are hidden in the Yokohama Underground Dungeon.
