Final Fantasy VII Remake returns to a golden age of RPGs, allowing new players to experience a heroic story with new mechanics, graphics, and a new way to play the game. The Remake works a little bit differently, where it consists of two different parts. The first released on April 10, 2020, and the next one does not have a set release date. How many chapters are in the first game?

So far, we do know that the Final Fantasy VII Remake overall story will be told on two different games. We don’t know when to expect the second release. Before its release, director Yoshinori Kitase spoke with Game Informer that it should compare to full Final Fantasy story, giving players plenty of content to run through, even if the whole story comes in two different games. Those who go straight through the main story can expect to finish it much faster than those who explore the game, looking for trophies to complete and additional side quests to work on with their party.

We don’t know the full extent of how many chapters are in the game. However, Redditor u/RealSeltheus, who was able to obtain the game early, noted they were on chapter 11 after having played for 26 hours. They predicted they would finish the game by hour 40, or so. Based on the trophies you earn by playing through the game, there’s likely going to be 18 chapters in total.

When you complete the game, you will have the opportunity to go through each chapter of the game and pick where you want to start again, rather than immediately beginning a new game. Final Fantasy VII Remake comes with a hard mode, which increases the difficulty for those who want a unique gameplay challenge. For those who want to try the game on a new game plus mode, unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be anything of that nature, beyond the increased difficulty.
