Hytale is an upcoming sandbox game from developers Hypixel. Incorporating that well-known voxel aesthetic, the game will have all kinds of mobs and monsters to fight, NPCs to talk to, and fantastical things to do. I mean, check out the trailer below and tell me that is not one fun looking time.

How To Access The Hytale Beta

At the moment, there is only one way to try and get access to the Hytale beta, and that is to sign up over at the Hytale website. No information is available yet about when a beta might begin, but it is always best to get your name in the hat as early as possible.

The game certainly looks unique, if the trailer is anything to go off. I always find myself interested in these types of games, but rapidly get distracted by other things, often because the games simply lack any real depth. Hytale looks like it wants to change that up by bringing a whole new social side to the experience. You can watch movies together; you can even MAKE movies together. There will be mini-games to play, and quests to venture out on.

As you traverse each generated landscape, you’ll piece together the history of the world through handcrafted adventure scenarios. You might encounter a mage’s tower overrun with monsters, descend into an underground cavern, or take on a colossal boss monster. With a wide variety of scenarios available at launch, no two adventures will be the same.

I really like the sound of this at it makes exploration far more meaningful than just finding some dusty old tomb or tower. Instead, it all has a history, a reason to be there and a reason to keep playing.

The game will also ship with all manner of editing tools for people who like to get creative. You will be able to have access to the Model Maker, a suite of browser-based 3D modeling and animation tools that will allow you to create your own characters and items. It all sounds pretty fantastic, and I cannot wait to see the game in action.
