How to answer the riddle in the “A Sleep Disturbed” quest in Final Fantasy XIV

One of the new quests in Final Fantasy XIV‘s Patch 5.2 takes players on a mission to the Rak’tika Greatwood to explore the secrets of the Qitana Ravel. During “A Sleep Disturbed,” as you learn more ancient history of the Ronkan Empire, you’ll need to complete a solo instanced duty.

Unlike most of the other solo instances in the MSQ, this quest offers you a series of riddles. Answering incorrectly will cause a few enemies to spawn, but you’ll need to answer the questions correctly to proceed with the story.

Question 1

On my belly do I crawl. By my strength does prosperity reign within our hall. What am I?

Answer: Serpent

Question 2

With fearsome fang, I travel with pack. Together we find harmony, and thus for peace our land does not lack. What am I?

Answer: Wolf

Question 3

Deft of paw, with kin do I vie. Though sought apart, betterment of the whole do our efforts descry. What am I?

Answer: Opo-opo.

Answering these questions will help you free your friends and continue the duty battle. You’ll be challenged to a short matching game and a quick battle before you can proceed with the story.
