How to avoid floor skips in the Twisting Corridors in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

These portals need a giant yellow line in front of them.

Normally, skipping a floor in a World of Warcraft: Shadowlands dungeon might not sound like a bad idea. However, this can give you a giant problem in Torghast, and especially inside the Twisting Corridors.

When you approach the exit guardian, be on your guard, and stay as far away from the exit portal as possible. There’s a high possibility that the enemy could send you into the portal and advance you to the next floor. Without the additional anima power that each floor’s guardian grants you, you’ll end up creating an extra challenge for yourself before the layer is finished.

If the exit guardian has an attack that creates fear or causes knockback, keep your back away from the portal. If you’re a rogue with Shadowstrike or a monk with Flying Serpent Kick, don’t use these abilities while facing away from the portal, as you may send yourself up a floor through your own attacks.

Hopefully, Blizzard becomes aware of this issue and finds some way to address it. For now, the best thing you can do is treat the exit portal like a giant AoE effect and focus your attacks on the guardian without exposing yourself to any fear or knockbacks. Pulling the bosses as far away from the portal as possible should also ensure you don’t have any problems advancing with your powers intact.
