Summer has arrived, and it’s also the fourth-anniversary event for Pokémon Go. To commemorate the occasion, developer Niantic will be releasing three weeks of timed research tasks leading up to the Pokémon Go Fest 2020 virtual event, available to everyone who purchases a ticket. During the third week of the fourth-anniversary challenges and timed research task, a Summer Style Pikachu will be available for trainers to capture.

The Summer Style Pikachu will only be available for players to capture in the wild and available in eggs. You won’t find one in any of the raids in your area. This particular Summer Style Pikachu will only be available during the third week of fourth-anniversary challenges, which start on July 17 at 8 am and continue until July 22 at 10 pm local time. A flying Pikachu will be available in the first week of challenges from July 3 to July 8.

The appearance of the Summer Style Pikachu will mirror the previous ones that have released where it’s wearing a large hat on its head and has a pair of sunglasses. Beyond the appearance change, it will be similar to other Pikachu available in the game and carries the same stats. Like many of the event-themed Pikachus, it’s likely that the Summer Style Pikachu will be unavailable to evolve into a Raichu.
