How to catch Emolga during the Unova Celebration Event in Pokémon Go

Emolga has flown over from the Unova region.

Emolga has been around in Pokémon Go for quite some time. It was initially introduced during the Unova Week celebration as a reward for players who completed 24 of the 32 global challenges for Pokémon Go Fest in 2020. Now, during the Unova Celebration Challenge in 2021, Emolga is returning as an increased spawn, but if you want to encounter it, you’ll need to do it in a specific way.

The only way Emolga will appear during the Unova Celebration Challenge is if you hatch it from a five-kilometer egg. These eggs will have to be ones you’ve acquired from PokéStops during the event. You can receive them from any PokéStop or Gym disc you spin, and you place them into an incubator. After you’ve walked five-kilometers or the required amount for it to hatch, Emolga is one of the potential spawns for this drop. It’s not guaranteed, so there’s no clear, easy way to know if there’s an Emolga inside yours or not.

While Emolga cannot evolve into any other Pokémon, it’s not the worst Pokémon to have in your collection. It’s an Electric and Flying-type Pokémon, making it weak to Ice and Rock-type attacks, but it’s resistant to Bug, Fighting, Flying, Grass, Ground, and Steel-type moves. It has a maximum CP of 1,633, an attack of 136, a defense of 112, and stamina of 127.

It’s not a good Pokémon to use in the standard Great or Ultra League. However, for specific leagues, such as the Flying or Little Cup, it excels because of trainers’ constraints. If you want a Pokémon that’s decent to have in these specific scenarios, using Emolga is a solid choice. However, because of how specific you need to be for it to work, you might feel like you’re wasting the space for it. At least, you’ll think that until you need it for a week or two during these Battle League events.
