Spring has sprung in Final Fantasy XIV, and this year’s Hatching Tide event promises to be hare-raising (sorry—you’ll have no choice but to partake in some eggscruciating puns.)
You’ll find familiar faces in the questline, but the activities and the silly FATE are all completely new for 2020.
Hatching Tide 2020 Dates
Hatching Tide 2020 happens in two phases:
- Monday, March 30 at 1am PT through Sunday, April 5 at 7:59am PT
- Sunday, April 5 at 8am PT through Monday, April 13 at 7:59am PT
Hatching Tide 2020 Rewards
This year’s rewards include a bunny suit, a plush bunny housing item, and an Egg Hunter Riggy poster.
If you’ve ever wanted to cosplay as a Viera, now’s your chance: The bunny suit is sure to be a staple in everyone’s glamour dresser. The poster advertises Egg Hunter Riggy, the Spriggan minigame from Hatching Tide 2018. The stuffed rabbit is a dyable plush for your house.

Hatching Tide quest locations
The second phase of this event kicks off in Mih Khetto’s Ampitheatre. Speak with Jihli Aliapoh (X: 10.2, Y: 9.3) in Old Gridania to start the quest “A Procession Eggstraordinaire.” You’ll be sent to Nonotta, just east of the Ampitheatre at X: 10.9, Y: 8.6.
The next step is to receive deliveries of eggs at the designated locations. These are all conveniently located nearby and are marked on your map with quest icons. The egg locations are:
- X: 11.5, Y:9.0
- X: 11.8, Y: 8.5
- X: 12.5, Y: 9.1
After you’ve gathered these eggs, report back to Nonotta at X: 10.9, Y: 8.6 to turn them in.
Your next step is to complete the FATE called “Rabbits in a Row” in Old Gridania. The FATE takes place right in front of the Botanist’s Guild. You’ll need to press Join Fate, which replaces the normal Level Sync button,, to participate. This gives you a new skill: Present, which gives a present to one of the targetable children nearby. Full credit for the FATE awards 10 bejeweled eggs.
You can repeat the FATE as often as you’d like to get more rewards.
After completing the FATE, return to Nonotta again. She’ll send you back to Min Khetto’s Ampitheatre to finish the quest. After a quick cutscene, you’ll receive the achievement “Egg-hunter and Egg-hunted.” This also unlocks the ability to purchase the Dapper Rabbit suit for 10 eggs.
