Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Ascendant Challenge in week 2 is significantly easier than last week’s, but here’s some help regardless.
One of Petra Venj’s weekly bounties is the “Ascendant Challenge.” It also happens to introduce you to the experience of ascending in the Dreaming City, a method by which Guardians can gain access to many new secrets. This guide will show help you succeed at completing the Ascendant Challenge in Week 2, which takes place in the Gardens of Esila. If you’re looking for help with the Ascendant Challenge in the lost sector below Petra in The Strand, have a look at this guide.
Get Tincture of Queensfoil
Before you even contemplate this challenge, be sure you have some Tincture of Queensfoil on you. You will need it to gain the Ascendance buff. If you don’t have any at the moment, consult our guide on how to get Tincture of Queensfoil.
Ascend in the Gardens of Esila
Head to the Gardens of Esila and drink a Tincture of Queensfoil to get the Ascendance buff. This will allow you to see into the Ascendant Plane. Enter the portal to arrive in the Ascendant Plane’s area called Forfeit Shrine.
Collect and Deposit Arc Charges
As soon as you arrive, you’ll start getting chased by an Abyssal Champion. Look for the three marked Arc Charges and bring them to the center. You’ll automatically “dunk” them there.
Be wary of the knights and the Blights, as they will slow you down and prevent you from jumping, which is the only way to stay away from the knights’ deadly melee attacks.
Destroy Abyssal Champions
Once all three Arc Charges have been deposited, the center will start spouting orbs of light. You can use these to fuel your super energy in order to destroy the Abyssal Champions. You’ll need to kill them all to finish the challenge and spawn the rewards chest.
Alternatively, jump up into one of the trees and just slowly wear down the Abyssal Champions until they’re all dead. They will disappear several times as you damage them but eventually, they will die and you’ll have completed the Ascendant Challenge.
If you die at any time, you’ll respawn outside the giant portal. Simply hop back in and keep going.
