How to evolve Combee in Pokémon Go

Combee is a Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, and it looks like a trio of honeycombs were given wings. You can capture it in Pokémon Go, and use it in raids or other Pokémon battles. For those looking to evolve Combee into its only evolution, Vespiquen, you can only do it through one method. You won’t be able to do it otherwise.

The only way a Combee can evolve into Vespiquen is if you have a female one. If you attempt to evolve a male Combee, you won’t be able to do that, and even if you meet the 50 Combee candy requirement, it won’t budge. When catching a Combee in the wild and inspecting it, double-check it’s a female one before attempting to use Stardust to give it power-ups and make it stronger.

Combee’s evolved form, Vespiquen, is a Bug and Flying-type Pokémon. It’s weak to Electric, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Rock-type attacks, but it is resistant to Bug, Fighting, Grass, and Ground-type moves. Vespiquen, for PvP, has a maximum CP of 2,005, an attack of 129, a defense of 162, and stamina of 147. For raids, it has an attack of 149, a defense of 190, and stamina of 172. Overall, it’s not a Pokémon you want to use in the Great or Ultra League, so unless you’re a Bug-type fan, you’ll probably be better off avoiding this Pokémon to keep in your possession.
