How to farm Stygia in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Bring a can of Raid with you to the cave.

If you’ve been hunting for Stygia inside the Maw in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, you’ll know that this is meant to be a limited resource linked to real-world time. There are, however, some mobs that appear in the Maw who are not playing by the rules, and will drop Stygia without hitting you with the Eye of the Jailer status.

Before you go after these enemies, be careful about how much you utilize this exploit. It’s not technically a rulebreaker, but earning too much Stygia too quickly could draw the ire of Blizzard and result in your account getting hit with a suspension or worse. You’ve been warned.

Resonant Misery

If you want to play it safe, Resonant Misery is one mob that gives out Stygia without any accompanying Eye of the Jailer stacks. You will become very familiar with the River of Souls if you just run around and kill these enemies, as they only give up about 500 Stygia per hour. However, this might be your best bet if you don’t want to risk incurring a Blizzard audit, as might happen if you choose to go after the next enemy.

Maw Roach Hatchling

Maw Roach Hatchlings infest the Beastwarrens area, and like the Resonant Misery, will not give you a ton of Stygia over a short period of time. You can fly under the radar and just farm these pests like normal, but if you find the cave at 47.1, 76.5, you’ll discover something interesting. The cave is littered with eggs, and when you step on them, you’ll create Maw Roach Hatchlings. Furthermore, these eggs respawn very quickly, so…you get the idea. Do with this information what you will.
