The Helminth System in Warframe is an infested device on your Orbiter that allows you to transfer powers into and out of your Warframes. The first thing you need to do is go through the complex process of unlocking the Helminth system.
One of the things you need to do with this system is feed it resources that it can draw secretions from to power the functions you need it to do. Every function has a secretion cost, so keeping the big mouth well stocked in food is important.
To feed the Helminth System, interact with the chair in the Infested room in your Orbiter, then click the “Feed Helminth” button in the bottom right corner of the menu screen. If you have given your Helminth a custom name, it will say “Feed Custom Name” instead.
Feeding the Helminth is quite simple, but there is a lot to understand. All you need to do is click on any of the resources, and it will line them up to be fed to the beast. The game’s resources are broken up into different categories called Oxides, Calx, Biotics, Synthetics, Pheromones, Bile, and Sentient Appetite. You can filter all these using the small buttons just below the menu that displays the Metamorphosis level. On the right side of the screen, you can see the current level of each type.
Each resource will have a set bundle that you need to feed to the Helminth, so pay very close attention to how many of them you have, and how many of them are required. After that, click on the Back button in the bottom right corner, and confirm that you want to feed the Helminth. There is also an issue called Feeding Efficiency that players will need to be aware of.
Feeding Efficiency
To avoid players just farming for easy to get resources, the Helminth will have preferred foods at different times, indicated by a red downwards arrow or green upwards arrow. The down arrow means the food will be less efficient, while the up arrow means it will be more efficient. It is advisable always to try to feed the Helminth’s efficient food types to get the most from your resources.
Feeding the Helminth foods that it likes will also increase the amount of experience you get, to help you rank up the Helminth faster, getting access to more slots and abilities.
You can find a full list of the resources that you can feed to the Helminth below, along with the bundle size you need to be able to do so.
