Right now, the Pokémon Go Safari Zone event that was supposed to happen in St. Louis from March 27 to the 29 has been postponed until further notice. Developer Niantic has come forward saying it has done so to help prevent the wider spread of the coronavirus. Because of this sudden cancellation, those who purchased a ticket to attend this event have the opportunity to receive a refund.
Those looking for a refund must visit the in-app support page to follow the instructions. Everything happens through the Pokémon Go application.
- Open up Pokémon Go and go to the main menu, indicated by the Pokéball in the center.
- Tap the settings option at the upper right portion of the screen, indicated by the cog.
- Go to the bottom of the settings page to reach the “Get Support” option.
- For those on an Android device, click the chat icon, and those on an iOS device click the Contact Us in the upper right portion of the screen.
The refund for the tickets goes to the person who purchased it and only works for them. If you were someone who received a ticket from an individual to attend with them, you need to wait until the original purchaser submits the order. They will receive a refund for all of the tickets they purchased. There’s no option for partial refunds for any members.
To take advantage of this refund you must submit an order before March 25 at 11:59pm PST. If you attempt to submit a request after, then you will not receive a refund. At this time, there’s no further information about how this could affect other future Safari Zones. Niantic is waiting to receive future information to observe the consistently shifting environment before issuing statements about different events.
