Everyone fell in love with the loyal, pure Amaro companions first introduced during Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. Not only can players obtain their own Amaro mount, the equivalent of their trusty Chocobos, but a minion is also available. The Amaro Hatchling minion is functionally similar to the Chocobo Hatchling minion. If you want this minion for yourself, you’ll need to put in some work across Norvrandt on the First.
Buy the minion with 400 Bicolor Gemstones at the Crystarium
To get the Amaro Hatchling minion, you have to purchase it with 400 Bicolor Gemstones at the Crystarium. You obtain Bicolor Gemstones by completing FATEs across zones on the First — Lakeland, Kholusia, Ahm Araeng, Il Mheg, The Rak’tika Greatwood, and The Tempest. You’ll then have a general pool of Bicolor Gemstones you can use to purchase rewards throughout each zone. But the Gemstone Trader NPC at the Crystarium, Gramsol (X:11.1, Y:13.6), will not offer his wares right away.
In order to unlock Gramsol’s wares, you’ll first have to achieve rank 3 within the other zones. You rank up by completing a certain amount of FATEs per level. To reach rank 3, you’ll need to first reach rank 2, and then do an additional 60 FATEs. Check your Shared FATEs tab in the main menu to confirm your rank in each zone, along with how many more FATEs you need to complete before ranking up. If you’re about to cap on Bicolor Gemstones, visit the Gemstone Traders in any other zone except for the Crystarium to buy some rewards. Just remember to keep 400 stashed away for the minion.
Once you complete this requirement, you’ll find Gramsol within the Crystarium’s markets. Speak with him and find the Amaro Hatchling among his wares. Exchange the 400 Bicolor Gemstones and the Amaro Hatchling minion will finally be yours.
