Having a good variety of emotes at your disposal in Fortnite is critical to your success. Ok, that may be debatable, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to be able to put the dance moves on after pulling off that fantastic kill shot. To that end, this guide will show you how to get the free Boogie Down emote and make your Fortnite account more secure in the process.

Boogie Down Emote

The process is straightforward. To get the Boogie Down emote, you have to enable 2FA on your Epic Games account. That’s the account you use to log into Fortnite with every day. You can see the dance in action in the embedded tweet above.

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication • TL;DR Games • Fair Use

Two-Factor authentication, or 2FA for short, adds a layer of security to your Epic Games account by requesting a six-digit code to be entered during every login. This code can either come from an Authenticator App, such as Authy, or from your email. Each time you log in, you’ll be prompted for this code.

To enable 2FA on your Fortnite account, head to the Epic Games account page and follow the steps after clicking either the Enable Authenticator App or Enable Email Authentication. You can only configure one of the two options.

After enabling 2FA, the Boogie Down emote will show up in Fortnite the next time you log in.

What If I Already Enabled 2FA?

Good news for those that are already security-minded enough to have enabled 2FA a long time ago. The Boogie Down emote should already have automatically unlocked in your Fortnite account, and you don’t need to do anything else.

It’s an excellent idea for Epic Games to promote the extra level of security that two-factor authentication provides, especially in a game as high-profile as Fortnite. Go out there and Boogie Down!
