A long-awaited exotic hand cannon quest has finally begun. Follow the first few steps of the quest line resulting in the Malfeasance exotic hand cannon now.
One of the most anticipated quests that Destiny 2: Forsaken players have been waiting to discover appears to have activated today. The hunt for exotic Malfeasance hand cannon is underway!
Ascendant Primeval Servitor
The quest that gets you started on the search of this fabled hand cannon that has been deemed as a successor to the notorious Thorn drops at random from a Gambit primeval boss named the Ascendant Primeval Servitor. We don’t believe that there is any way to trigger this boss, you just have to keep playing the Gambit mode until he appears in the rotation. Upon defeating it, there is a chance that you will get The Seething Heart quest step.
Step 1 – The Seething Heart Quest
The first step of The Seething Heart quest merely asks you to visit the Drifter in the tower. He will then assign you the next step, City of Secrets.
Step 2 – City of Secrets Quest Step
For the City of Secrets quest step, you’ll have to defeat 25 Taken bosses or minibosses in the Dreaming City. The Corrupted Strike, as well as Petra Venj’s Ascendant Challenges, are a great way to gather up those kills.
Step 3 – The Corrupted
The next step asks you to complete The Corrupted mission in the Dreaming City, but with a twist. The recommended Power Level is 580 and you can play with a six-man fireteam. If this sounds like a tough mini-raid, then you’d be correct. According to Reddit, it is extremely difficult.
Step 4 – Business As Usual
The fourth step involves depositing motes in Gambit and winning matches. Looks like it is ten Gambit wins and a total of 350~500 motes deposited. However, losing motes punishes you quite heavily.
Step 5 – Lights Out
In this step, Guardians must either watch a teammate defeat all four opposing Guardians in a single invasion three times or defeat four opposing Guardians as an invader once themselves. Additionally, you must defeat 25 opposing Guardians, as an invader. Again, this is worded terribly and I have no idea anymore what Bungie means. Good luck.
Step 6 – Malfeasance
The final step has you collecting your brand new Malfeasance exotic hand cannon.
Callum’s Grave?
Originally we suspected that at some point you would need to locate Callum’s Grave. This location was discovered several days ago but is only accessible via some extreme jumping and is not intended to be reached yet. Interestingly enough, it never comes up in the Malfeasance quest line. Perhaps there is another time-gate involved here for something else. We’ll have to wait to find out.
For now, if you’re interested in the Malfeasance exotic hand cannon, I suggest you hit up the Gambit mode and grind it until you get the quest. If you need some helpful Gambit hints, check out our Gambit guide. For more assistance, be sure to consult our Destiny 2 Guide Hub.
