When you first inherit your farm in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, you will also get a farmhouse. It starts out small, and you can upgrade it over time if you get enough money and materials, but you can also get other houses.

One of them, the Seaside Cottage, cannot be purchased, and instead, you will need to earn it by appealing to an ancient Goddess, so not that different to how real estate works in most big cities these days.

How to get the Seaside Cottage

To unlock the Seaside Cottage, you will first need to find the Harvest Goddess. You will need to go to the small river that runs past Spring Mine and the hot springs and throw in an offering, preferably a flower. This will cause the Harvest Goddess to appear, and if you do it 150 times, she will reward your generosity by giving you the Seaside Cottage. It will unlock straight away for you, so after roughly five full seasons of giving presents, you can head to Mineral Beach and go inside. You can find the cottage to the south of the beach.

The Seaside Cottage doesn’t have a kitchen and is only really useful as a place to sleep. You also can’t move there permanently, so it really is just a bit of a flex on the rest of the residents.

The main advantage of the Seaside Cottage is that you can spend all day fishing on the beach, pushing yourself to the edge of exhaustion, and just go and sleep it all off and do it again the next day.
