The Shadowlands expansion adds a massive amount of lore to the world of Azeroth and beyond in World of Warcraft. An achievement called Deciphering Death’s Intentions is awarded to players who collect every Maw Lore Item within the Maw, and until now, the Shadehound Armor Plating could not be located anywhere in the zone. Thankfully, Blizzard has addressed this issue, and we now know where to find this last lore item.
To locate the Shadehound Armor Plating, you will need to complete the Hunt: Shadehounds event inside the Maw. You’ll need to up your reputation with Ve’nari before the Hunts events are available to you; to begin, you’ll have to reach Ambivalent and open the Rule 6: Concealment is Everything quest. Complete this quest by using the Cypher of Dampening in the Beastwarrens and finding 15 Broker Hunting Runes, and you’ll have access to Hunts.
There are four kinds of hunts available, and they rotate once every two weeks. Before Shadehounds, you will see Soul Eaters, Death Elementals, and Winged Soul Eaters, in that order, so you may have to wait a bit before going after the Shadehounds. Once the correct week approaches, speak to Ve’nari, and you can participate in the Hunts event. Part of the reward for this event is the Shadehound Armor Plating, which will round out your collection of Maw Lore items. While you’re completing tasks in the Maw, you can also go after the Mawsworn Soulhunter, which allows you to mount up in this zone.
