The Fortnite gifting system is finally here! If you’re wondering how to gift skins in Fortnite or other cosmetics, we’ve got all the details.
We’ve known about it for months since data miners found it in the game files, and now the Fortnite gifting system is finally here. Available for just the next week, players can gift skins and cosmetics from the Fortnite shop to their friends in-game. Epic has confirmed that it’s only available for a week while they garner feedback and that it will likely return in future, once they’ve refined how it works. But how do you gift skins in Fortnite? If you’re wondering how to gift skins in Fortnite, look no further.
How to gift skins in Fortnite
It’s a relatively simple process to gift skins in Fortnite. All you need to do is boot up the game and navigate to the in-game shop. Select the item you wish to gift to a friend – unfortunately, you can only gift items available in the store on that day – and click purchase. This will bring up a prompt that will ask you if you want to purchase it for yourself or gift it to a friend.
Select the latter option, and you’ll be presented with the ability to select the giftee, along with write any custom message you fancy. Whether you want to be genuinely nice or troll your mates through the power of kindness, or you could leave it blank. Your friend will then receive the gift the next time they log in to Fortnite.
It’s important to note that you can only send three gifts in one day and that to send a gift to someone, you need to have been friends with them for at least 48 hours. Also, if you didn’t enable two-factor authentication on your account, make sure you do that because it’s necessary to be able to send and receive gifts. Finally, be aware that gifts aren’t refundable via the use of a refund ticket.
