Hacking and slashing your way through waves of evil forces in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity can prove to be an immense amount of fun. Whether you’re playing as the Hero of Time Link, or controlling the quick hands of Impa from the Sheikah tribe, your combinations of sweeping heavy attacks and winding combos will cut straight through the forces of Calamity Ganon.
However, while most of the grunt enemies will likely prove to be easy prey, some of the bigger enemies, such as the Moblins in the earlier chapters, will take a little more strategy and speed, and can chunk down your health at a fast rate if you’re not careful. Blocking and dodging are your best ways of avoiding being hit, but with the sheer number of enemies on screen that you’ll encounter, you’re bound to take damage at some point.
The method for healing is fairly simple, but the game only provides the prompt once very briefly. So if you don’t need to use it regularly, it can be easy to forget how to. Simply put, press and hold the L button on the controller, and the game will provide a four-button directional prompt. One of these should be an apple icon. Use the appropriate direction and you will see your health increase, and the bar for the apple in the menu go down.
The bar for healing should go up through item collection and progressing, but the amount of heals available is shared amongst the characters in your party. So if you only have one bar left to heal but more than one that needs it, you will need to think carefully and use it on the character that you’ll want to use primarily until the bar has filled again.
