Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town

How to level up and upgrade your tools in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town

Stronger is better.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

You will be using your tools in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town constantly, so upgrading them is a good idea. Upgrading a tool makes it more efficient, allowing you to hold the button to affect a greater area than a single square. This makes getting your farm work done a much easier task, freeing you up to do other things in the town.

The good news is that your tools are easy to level up, all you have to do is use them. Using tools earns them experience, and earning enough experience will move them up a tier. Nothing will happen just from this occurring, but it will allow you to upgrade the tool at the Forge. You can find the forge at the point marked on the map below.

Forge Location

You can upgrade your tools through assorted levels, allowing you to hold the button for longer, building up a charge that will be counted out on the screen, and having more impact on the required task. Axes will cut through a Tier 2 trunk much more quickly if you can charge it to 3 or 4, for example.

  • Standard Iron Tools
  • Copper
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Mithril

You will need to visit the Spring Mine and break up rocks with your hammer to find the various ores that you need, and you can then bring these ores to the Forge, and they will upgrade your tool of choice if you can pay enough gold. It will also take a full day to upgrade the tool, so keep in mind that you won’t be able to use it on the day you get it upgraded.

It is possible to upgrade your weapons beyond the Mithril level, but you will need to find very specific resources in the mines, and you won’t need to worry about this until you can spend quite a while digging through the various levels.
