To survive in Grounded, you will need to sort out food and clean water on a regular basis. You constantly need to keep yourself fed, or you will starve to death, and without water, your stamina eventually falls to nothing. Water can sometimes be a little awkward to find, and if you plan on exploring one of the maps’ many spots, it will help to be able to bring some clean water with you.
How to make a canteen
To make a canteen, you will need the following resources:
- Grub Hides x 3
- Woven Fiber x 2
Woven Fiber
To make Woven Fiber, you will need to find some Plant Fiber and analyze it in the analyzer. This will unlock the crafting recipe for Woven Fiber.
Grub Hides
To get Grubs and Grub hide, make you way over to the Oak Tree and then look on the ground for fallen acorns. When you find one, smash it up with you hammer, then pick up the broken pieces of shell. You can now make a shovel, which you will need to get grubs.
Now you will need to search around on the ground for small disturbances in the mud that look like something crawling along underneath. These are common enough in the wetter mud underneath the tree.
When you see one, dig it up with you shovel, then switch to your Ax or spear and bash the grub with it until it dies. You can loot the corpse for Grub Hide.
Analyze the Grub Hide, and this will give you access to the canteen recipe, and you will be able to build it in the crafting menu.
