Clinch fighting can be an effective way to pound the opposition in mixed martial arts. Much like with real mixed martial arts, clinches in UFC 4 are important to know. So how do you perform a clinch? During a fight, you will need to press RB/R1 + X/Square. However, keep in mind that this control is also used to throw a hook during a fight. Because of this, you may unintentionally throw a hook when you are actually attempting to perform a clinch. In order to avoid this, make sure that when attempting a clinch, your fighter is in close proximity with the opposing fighter. To ensure that you are, gently move the left analog stick to either the left or the right, depending on where the opposing fighter is.

Keep in mind, however, that you need to be judicious when attempting to perform a clinch. Moving too close to a fighter could result in making yourself vulnerable to getting hit with a jab or a hook. Try to use this move in opportune times, such as when an opponent misses a strike, or has been stunned by one your strikes, as the opposing fighter will be more vulnerable to a clinch.
