How to play cooperative multiplayer in Untilted Goose Game

Honk with a friend.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

If you haven’t enjoyed terrorizing people as an unruly goose in Untitled Goose Game, then you may want to play with a friend. Double the goose is almost certain to be double the fun, after all. The first thing you will need to do is make sure you have the free update that introduces multiplayer installed. Once the download has completed, just fire up the game as normal.

Most folks will have automatic updates on their library of games, but if not, take the following steps to install the update after it goes live:

  • Nintendo Switch – highlight the game, press the + button, select Software Update
  • PlayStation 4 – highlight the game, press the Options button, select Check for Update
  • Xbox One – highlight the game, select Manage Game, select Update

The control methods are also fairly simple. The game will need two controllers on console and PC, although on PC you can mix it up with mouse and keyboard for one player if you wish. On the Switch you can use a single Joy-Con split between both players.

To actually start a multiplayer game, select the Begin option on the main screen, then “Two Player” from the next menu. This is where you will need to set up your controller options.

Finally, remember that this is local cooperative only, and both geese will need to stay on the one screen, so stick together to have the easiest time of it.
