Minecraft is one of the most amazing gaming experiences a person can have, even in today’s age. The feeling of hopping into a fresh server is beaten by little in the gaming community. However, while you can have an enjoyable time as a solo player, it’s always more fun to have some friends join you in a server. If you’re struggling to figure out how to play with friends on PlayStation 4, follow this quick guide.
Playing with PS4 friends in Minecraft
To play with online friends in Minecraft, every participant must have an active PlayStation Plus account. Along with this, a stable Internet connection is recommended for the easiest experience.
Once you launch Minecraft, select “Multiplayer” from the lobby screen. If you choose Singleplayer, you won’t be able to invite any friends to that particular server. After selecting Multiplayer, you’ll be presented with a few different options.
- LAN
- Online Server
- Minecraft Realms
- Splitscreen
The most used option of the four is the Online Server. This option is also the easiest to team up with your friends in your own server. Select the Online Server option, and you’ll be transported to a fresh biome in a new server. Once in the new world, your friends can join you after you send them an invite. To do this, simply press the Touchpad and press Square. You should see a list of your friends, and from here you can choose which ones to invite to the server.
After your friends are in, they can send their own invites. However, since you’re the one who started the server, your friends will only be able to play if you are online and in the server. If you go offline, the server will as well.
If you want to play with friends who created their own server, press the Touchpad and then hit Triangle. This will bring up a list of any invites you have received. If you see the invite to the right server, hit the accept button, and you’ll be transported to the world.
