Devil May Cry 5 has already asserted itself as a stellar title on current generation platforms, but its next-gen edition does more than enough to prove you should continue your journey. Although most upgradeable next-gen titles are more for the sake of graphical boosts, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition adds new modes, improved gameplay, and more. There’s so much content, especially at such a low price, it may even warrant a pre-order.
Features
A new Turbo mode will be exclusive to this edition. When played, the normal gameplay speed will be increased by 1.2x. As if that wasn’t already overwhelming, there will be an optional Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, which crowds each area with even more demons. The edition will also be bundled in with all previously released DLC, such as the EX color costumes and Bloody Palace mode.
Speaking of DLC, the Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will include the upcoming Virgil Mode DLC, where the infamous rival can be played in both the campaign and Bloody Palace Mode.
Obviously, everything from its original edition is included, but now players can return to the campaign with added lighting effects due to ray-tracing, faster load times, and higher graphical capability allowing for use at up to 120 frames-per-second.
Versions
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will come to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and can be pre-ordered either digitally or physically. However, each of these will release at different times.
Release dates
The digital edition will be a launch title for these new consoles. So, Xbox Series X/S owners will have this available to them on November 10, with those on PS5 having it on November 12. For physical collectors, the disc-based version for both platforms will release a few weeks later on December 1 and can currently be pre-ordered from online retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.
