How to pre-order NHL 21 – Versions, bonuses, release date

NHL 21 will launch this October, a few weeks later than expected thanks to production delays that were caused by the coronavirus. NHL players will find some new features in this year’s game, such as EASHL Practice, HUT RUSH, and a revamped Be a Pro mode.

Pre-orders for NHL 21 are currently available, and there several editions of the new game to choose from. Let’s go over all editions that are available for pre-order and what bonuses will come with each version.

There are three versions of NHL 21 available: the Standard Edition, the Deluxe Edition, and the Great Eight Edition.

NHL 21 Standard Edition

The Standard Edition come with several virtual items. Individuals who pre-order the NHL 21 Standard Edition will receive up to two HUT Diamond Player Choice Packs (one pack for two months), a Be a Pro XP Boost, Be a Pro Specialization Bonus, an additional Be a Pro trait, and one unlocked Hockey bag for the World of CHEL. Individuals can pre-order the game digitally either on the Microsoft or PlayStation stores, or at various retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.

NHL 21 Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition, which costs $79.99 ($71.99 with EA Access), includes not just a copy of NHL 21, but also additional items that you would not find in the Standard Edition. Pre-ordering the NHL 21 Deluxe Edition includes receiving three days of full access to the game beginning on October 10, plus the following items:

• Up to 5 HUT Diamond Player Choice Packs (1 per month for 5 months)
• HUT Cover Athlete Choice Pack (Choice of: Ovechkin, Matthews, McDavid, Pettersson, Laine, Subban)
• HUT Synergy Veteran Choice Pack (Choice 1 of 10; +1 OVR per month until August 2021)
• Be A Pro XP Boost and Bonus Trait and Specialization Points
• 2 Unlocked Hockey Bags

The NHL 21 Deluxe Edition is available digitally at the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and GameStop.

NHL 21 Ultmate Edition

The third version of NHL 21 that is available is the Ultimate Edition, also known as the Great Eight Edition, named after the game’s cover athlete, Capitals LW Alex Ovechkin. The Great Eight Edition comes with the following items:

• Up to 10 HUT Diamond Player Choice Packs (2 per month for 5 months)
• HUT Cover Athlete Choice Pack (Choice of: Ovechkin, Matthews, McDavid, Pettersson, Laine, Subban)
