How to register for the Resident Evil Ambassador program for the 25th anniversary beta

Capcom loves making us jump through hoops to do fun things.

Fresh off the announcement of an upcoming special presentation for Resident Evil Village, Capcom has also announced a closed beta test for an unnamed title. We know next to nothing about this project, but it’s meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise.

Capcom ID

To sign up for the beta, you’ll need to head to the beta website. You will be asked to enter your Capcom ID, which must be linked to the Resident Evil Ambassador program. If you don’t have one yet, you can sign up on the Capcom ID website. Enter your email address, and you will receive a confirmation message. Click on the provided link, and you’ll be asked to enter basic information, including a username, password, date of birth, and country of residence. Once you confirm your information, half of the work is done.

Resident Evil Ambassador

Now, you need to finish registration and link your Capcom ID to the Resident Evil Ambassador program. This can be a little tricky, because the website is Japanese, so make sure your language is set to English on the bottom of the page. While you are still signed in with your Capcom ID, click on “My Page.” At this point, make sure your browser is set to translate to English. Choose to log in with the Capcom ID, and on the next screen, click “To login screen >” to go forward. You’ll see a login box in Japanese; enter your login info that you used to register a Capcom ID, and click the second option below your password (the blue box). You will see another screen, mostly with Japanese text, and you’ll be asked to create a nickname (this box will be autofilled with a suggestion). Click the button at the bottom to complete the process, and on the next page, click once more to accept registration.

Still with us? Yeah, Capcom made this whole process kinda complicated. Now, you can go back to the main RE Ambassador page. Click on Ambassador Registration, and you’ll need to fill out several pieces of information. You can also choose your own profile card at the bottom with a few different characters from the RE series. Once you’re finished, click the button at the bottom, and you’ll be an official Resident Evil Amabassdor.

Once that’s done, head back to the beta signup page. You’ll be asked to log in with your Capcom ID, if you aren’t already, and choose your console of choice (PS5 and Xbox Series X will be usable through backwards compatibility). Enter your date of birth and country, and click “Confirm” at the bottom. If it doesn’t go through the first time, keep hitting F5 or Refresh on your browser; the registration has been very popular.

All that’s left is to wait until January 21 to learn more about the beta game, as well as any other announcements Capcom has about the future of Resident Evil.
