One of the biggest draws of The Sims 4 is the ability to completely design and set up a home to the way you want it. Once you have your furniture, it is up to you to decide how best to layout it by placing it and rotating it.

How to rotate items in The Sims 4 on PC

There are two different ways to rotate furniture in The Sims 4. First, in Build Mode, click and hold on the object you want to rotate. While holding the button, move your cursor to the direction you want the object to face.

While that way lets you rotate furniture that is already placed, rotating an object before it is placed could be easier. To rotate an object before placing it, simply press either the comma or period keys (which are also the < and > keys, to indicate the direction) on your keyboard to rotate it counterclockwise or clockwise.

How to rotate items in The Sims 4 on console

The above methods cover how to rotate objects on the PC version of The Sims 4. However, the game is also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and there is no period or comma keys you can use there.

When you have an item selected in Build Mode, press L1 on PS4 or LB on Xbox One to rotate counterclockwise and R1 on PS4 or RB on Xbox One to rotate clockwise.
