To save in Far Cry 5, just hit the Options or Escape button and select “Save” from the main menu. Three small dots will appear in the top right on the screen. When they are gone, the Save is complete.

Far Cry 5 is a big game, with a lot to do. It can also be unpredictable. One minute everything might be going your way, and the next minute a bear might eat your face. Sometimes you might even just end up in a part of the map that you are not quite prepared for. Fortunately, Save options exist for just these reasons. Far Cry 5 is a game that you will want to save in regularly, especially on higher difficulties.

The game will automatically save when you Fast Travel, complete a mission, or reach a mission checkpoint. The save indicator takes the form of a few small dots that appear in the top right corner of the screen. Even with this autosave feature you still want to save regularly to avoid losing any mission progress. Nothing is worse than finding a big stash of gear, then losing your life to one of the many in game dangers.
