How to start Nature Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Time to become eco-friendly.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s a great time of the year to take the initiative to become more eco-friendly in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From Apr. 23 to May 4, you can participate in the next event in the game called Nature Day, which coincides with the real-world activity of Earth Day. It goes on for a limited time, so make sure to take part in it as much as possible.

To start the event in Nature Day, you’ll receive an announcement when you first log into the game from Isabelle. She’ll give you a quick rundown about it, but she only gives you the barest of details. When that wraps up, and you start your day, proceed to your mailbox to see the note Tom Nook left you about celebrating Nature Day and how Nook Miles+ members can receive additional things to do, such completing daily challenges that provide five times the usual Nook Miles rewards.

You now need to speak with Tom Nook inside the Resident Hall center to learn more details. He’ll confirm the additional incentive for doing eco-friendly activities. You’ll want to complete and participate in your first Nook Miles+ Nature Day challenge.

Check your phone to see what your first assignment is, and then go to the newest merchant to arrive on your island, Leif. He’ll be at the front of your Resident Center. Speak to him, grab the new shrubs available in his inventory, and then plant at least three of them in a location.

After you’ve finished planting those and you complete the challenge, return to Tom Nook to receive your exclusive reward for participating in the first challenge. You can expect to visit Tom Nook after finishing these daily Nature Day challenges to learn more about how to receive additional rewards for your hard work.
