How to unlock A Foot in the Door achievement in Twin Mirror

Twin Mirror’s A Foot in the Door achievement or trophy is one of the many secrets you can unlock. It’s one of the earliest achievements or trophies you can obtain, but you may be unsure what you need to do to unlock it.

A Foot in the Door’s description states that you must escape the Infinite Hallway section without requiring any help. There are story spoilers from this point on, so don’t read passed the image below if you haven’t finished attending Nick’s wake.

After Sam wakes up the following morning, he finds a bloodied shirt in his hotel bathroom. As he tries to enter his Mind Palace, Sam has a panic attack and finds himself in the Infinite Hallway instead. Pursued by a mysterious being, Sam must navigate the seemingly endless pathway to calm himself down.

The first part of this section requires you to find the correct door to go through. As you run from your pursuer, you must avoid any black-framed doorways; otherwise, Sam will have to restart the puzzle again. Do this too often, and Sam’s Double will give you tips on how to navigate the hallway. You cannot unlock the achievement or trophy if you get in-game help.

Use your controller’s left thumbstick to evade the doors. You’ll eventually see one with white writing in its center — head through that one. The second run has writing in every doorway. Again, avoid any black-framed doors or those with blue, negative writing in them. Look for a white-framed entrance with white writing while avoiding the others. Head through that doorway to reach the final running section.

This one starts throwing black-framed entrances into your path, so evade them quickly, or your path will reset. Run until you see the final doorway with white writing and pass through it.

Sam will come across three mirrors with his reflection in it. You have to pick the right mirror to enter to complete this puzzle. You can listen to what Sam’s reflection says, in each mirror, by tapping the Y or triangle button on your Xbox or PlayStation controller. To save you time, pick the left side door, which is where Sam says, “If I run… to face what happened… answers”. You will return to the hotel room, and the achievement or trophy will pop.
