Gunning for a horrible ending.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope has plenty of secret achievements and trophies for you to unlock. Ordinarily, a game’s rarest achievements and trophies are hidden until you complete them, but Little Hope contains some that you can view straight away.

One of these is the ‘Fate Worse Than Death’ achievement or trophy. For Xbox One users, this achievement is worth 100 gamerscore (GS), and it’s a gold trophy on PlayStation 4. The description reads, ‘Andrew must be the sole survivor with a weapon,’ which gives you clues about completing it. If you are struggling to unlock it, though, we can help.

First, you need to get Andrew a weapon. This can be found in an abandoned shack in Act Two. You will come across this building on the main path, so don’t worry about missing it. As this scene plays out, John will get spooked and run off. As Andrew, you will need to complete a ‘Stay Calm’ quick-time event (QTE) to enter.

You can complete the QTE by pressing the correct button in time with the heartbeats on the screen. If you mess up, Andrew will run too, and you won’t get the weapon. If you complete it, Andrew will enter. Head into the back room and locate the box underneath a destroyed bed. Open it to get the gun. Head back outside, and Angela will scold you for keeping it. Choose the option to keep the gun.

You don’t have to use the gun throughout your playthrough to unlock the achievement or trophy. Simply holding on to the weapon will unlock it, so it’s up to you whether you use it or not. We won’t spoil what happens if you do or don’t, so make your own mind up as you play.

Once you have the gun, you simply have to get everyone else killed. You can do this by failing QTEs when the other characters are attacked by their demons at various points. Alternatively, you can get them all killed in the game’s final sequence. This is a spoiler for the endgame, so don’t read on if you don’t want to see how it ends.

If you are still here, you need to get Andrew to tell Abraham to destroy the poppet or accuse Mary of witchcraft. After that scene plays out, Andrew will leave the house, but everyone else will get trapped inside. Their demons will come and kill them, which makes Andrew the sole survivor.

As long as you kept the gun when Angela told you to throw it away, and everyone else dies before the end, the achievement or trophy will pop for you.
