Art has arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and you can begin gathering it up to give to Blathers. Any new pieces you have to offer him will go up in your museum, so make sure you spend plenty of time gathering those up to submit to your knowledge-driven friend.
To acquire these art pieces, you need to speak to one of the new merchants in the game named Redd. Animal Crossing veterans may remember Redd as the individual who also sold to you notable works of art in the past. Whenever you speak to Redd, there’s a chance that he’s going to offer you a one-of-a-kind piece of art for a handsome amount of Bells. However, there’s the chance that the art piece is fake, and when you bring it to Blathers, it’s not an authentic piece.
If you want to unlock Redd and gain access to the new merchant location of the Treasure Trawler, the first thing you need to do is speak to Blathers. He’ll explain you’ve done an excellent job of acquiring various pieces to show off in the museum. It’s become such a success that it’s time to add art wing. After this conversation, you need to wait for 24-hours, and then Redd shows up on your island. You’ll know Redd has arrived because Isabelle makes not of a suspicious figure roaming around your island.
Once the day’s announcements wrap up, you can find Redd roaming around your Resident Centers building. Speak to Redd, introduce yourself, and receive your first piece of art from them. Take it to Blathers, and you can open up the art wing of your museum after it’s entirely constructed. The process of constructing the art area does take a few days.
After the ceremony, on the same day, explore your island to find Redd again to talk with them. When you do, they’ll express happiness for you having purchased their art, and how they want to stick around. Redd’s Treasure Trawler will then spawn at the north side of your island. It’s a little bit beat up. Roam around to look for it, and when you find it, go inside to see what Redd has to offer you. Look out for the fake pieces of paintings, because Redd does sell those. You can only purchase one piece of art per visit. The Treasure Trawler does not show up to your island every day.
