The Ishgard Restoration is a live, server-wide event for crafters and gatherers in Final Fantasy XIV. Players on each server work together to rebuild a portion of the snowy city-state of Ishgard. Gatherers collect special materials, while crafters turn those materials into tangible objects for the restoration project. Every server has its own leaderboard for various prizes at the end of each ranking period. It’s also a great way to quickly level up your crafters and gatherers.
Gatherers have access to a revamped version of Diadem where they collect materials, then turn in those materials for appraisal. Crafters use those appraised materials to create special collectible items. Both methods reward players with Skybuilders’ scrips for special rewards, as well as tons of experience points for leveling up. Players won’t receive any ranking points unless the live event is ongoing, as displayed in on-screen messages while in Ishgard. But you can continue earning experience points and Skybuilders’ scrips at any time.
Complete the “Towards the Firmament” quest in Ishgard
In order to start the Ishgardian Restoration, players will first need to achieve level 60 on any job and have access to Ishgard in the Heavensward expansion. You’ll also need to complete the main scenario quest, “Litany of Peace.” Head to the Foundation section of Ishgard and locate the Recruitment Notice (X:9.7, Y:11.5) on the wall, not too far from the aetheryte crystal.
When you’re done with that, go to the newly-unlocked Firmament area. Speak with the NPC Augebert (X:11.4, Y:14.1) to get caught up on the latest chapter of the Ishgardian Restoration. You’ll then have access to participate in the Restoration. The Firmament area has several NPCs to talk to, as well as a summoning bell to access your retainers.
Talk to Flotpassant (X:10.8, Y:14.0) as a gatherer to have your Diadem items appraised. The Diadem NPC just next to him will grant you access to gather and level up in the area. Crafters may instead speak with Potkin (X:12.2, Y:14.6) for Restoration-related crafts to be added to your crafters’ log. You’ll find these under the Ishgardian Restoration tab in your log.
