How upgrading a Hack works in Hyper Scape

The way hacks upgrade is different than weapons, and we've broken it down for you.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

In Hyper Scape, all items aside from melee weapons can be upgraded by locating a duplicate of the item on the map and fusing them together. While many weapon upgrades focus on damage, the stat most commonly affected by a hack upgrade is cooldown time.

Most hacks will never get stronger, but using a hack in faster succession can be the make-or-break difference in a battle. There are 10 hacks currently in the game, each with their own initial cooldown times.

  • Armor
  • Reveal
  • Ball
  • Wall
  • Mine
  • Slam
  • Shockwave
  • Teleport
  • Invisibility
  • Heal

The Mine hack’s strength will increase in damage at level 4. This is the only Hack that has a stat other than cooldown time affected, even though Shockwave and Ball can also be used offensively, their damage never goes up.

The hack with the longest standard cooldown time is Reveal at 14 seconds. The hack that can scan where enemies are located, even through walls. At level 4, the cooldown is only nine seconds.

The hack with the shortest standard cooldown time is Shockwave at nine seconds. This creates a burst of energy damaging and propelling all targets within range. At level 4, the cooldown is only four seconds.

All of the other hacks either go from 12 seconds down to seven at level 4, or ten seconds down to five.

The question is, are you the type to go for the slower, more impressive hacks, or is it speed over all else?
