During Sony’s February 25 State of Play, we got a glimpse at Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the updated version of the game on PlayStation 5. The trailer went over all of the graphical improvements, new content, and also revealed some information for current owners of the game.
The PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be free for everyone who currently owns a copy of the game and include a save transfer feature. However, there are a few caveats that have to be taken into consideration.
If you have not heard, Final Fantasy VII Remake is going to be included in the PlayStation Plus lineup for March. With that said, if you receive your copy of the game via your PS Plus subscription, you will not be able to receive the PS5 upgrade for free. If you read the fine print in a promotional tweet for next month’s slew of games, you’ll notice the bad news.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will also introduce players to some new purchasable content as well. An episode that focuses on the fan-favorite Yuffie will be available to purchase once players have upgraded. This new episode will be exclusive to this version and the price has not been revealed yet. If players want to experience it, they will have to either upgrade or purchase Intergrade when it releases on June 10 — sorry to all of the PS4 owners out there.
