Oddworld: Soulstorm, the upcoming reimagining of Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus, will launch on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The platform-adventure title received another trailer during September’s PS5 showcase. For gamers who play primarily on PC or Xbox consoles, there are questions over whether it will launch on those platforms.
If you want to play Soulstorm but don’t own a PS4 system, and don’t plan on purchasing a PS5 console, you will want to know if Soulstorm is coming to PC, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X. So, will the next entry in the Oddworld franchise arrive on either platform?
Yes, Oddworld: Soulstorm will be getting port to these systems. However, there are different launch windows for each port.
PC gamers should see Soulstorm launch at the same time that it does on PS5 and PS4. At the end of the “Molluck Returns” trailer, It is revealed that Oddworld: Soulstorm is “also available on PC.” While there is no definitive release date for the game, there is nothing to suggest that PC players will have to wait an extra week or two after it launches on PS5.
For Xbox fans, it’s a different story. The same trailer reveals that Soulstorm is a timed console exclusive for PS5 and PS4. Previous PlayStation timed exclusives, such as Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Death Stranding, have had different exclusivity periods before launching on other platforms. Death Stranding was out on PS4 for eight months before it was released on PC. Final Fantasy 7 Remake, meanwhile, was released on PS4 in March, but won’t arrive on Xbox consoles until March 2021.
Soulstorm wasn’t listed as a PS5 launch title, so it won’t be released until December at the earliest. If that’s the case, Xbox owners will likely have to wait until December 2021 until it’s ported to Microsoft’s console lineup. If it doesn’t arrive until 2021, it could be an even longer wait for Xbox fans.
If we get word of an official release date for any platforms, we will update this guide.
