Old Parts are something that you will need to get your hands on quite early in My Time At Portia. They are used for crafting, and trading, and you will need them to build some of the very first pieces of equipment you will need for your workshop. You cannot purchase old parts; they can only be found out in the world, or by recycling some items.

How To Get Old Parts

You can find old parts in the Abandoned Ruins, using the Relic Detector. When in the Abandoned Ruins, hit F to switch on the Relic Detector, then scan the ground around you. When you see a glowing yellow dot, you have found a Relic! With luck, that Relic will be some Old Parts, but you just have to stay searching and digging until you find them. You can check the below video if you want to see an example of how the Relic Detector works.

If you have the items, you can also get Old Parts by recycling the Fan, Massage Chair, Printing Press or Small Clock items. It is a good idea to stock up on Old Parts, as they have a lot of uses in the game.

Not only do you need them for crafting, but you can also trade Old Parts to the Mysterious Man in exchange for Small Engines. You also need Old Parts to upgrade the worktable in A&G Construction. You will need a total of 35 Old Parts to upgrade it to Level 3.

If you need a lot of Old Parts, and fast, you can try Level 2 of the Hazardous Ruins, as these seem to give the greatest amount. Be warned, it is a little dangerous in there, and you won’t be able to access it in the early game.
