Doing Field Research in Pokemon GO can provide all sorts of unique rewards. Usually, there are specific Field Research Tasks each month, but this month sees some extra ones in the game to tie in with the release of the Detective Pikachu movie. In this guide, we will run through the additional tasks, and what you need to do to complete them.

Pokemon GO Detective Pikachu Field Research Tasks

The Detective Pikachu Field Research Tasks will go live in Pokemon GO on May 9 and shall be available until 9 pm GMT/1pm PDT on May 17, giving you plenty of time to get them all wrapped up.

The special Detective Pikachu Field Research Tasks take the form of riddles that can be solved by watching the second Detective Pikachu movie trailer. The tasks, and the things you need to do to complete them, plus the relevant rewards, are listed below;

  • Catch the Seed Pokemon that is seen walking in a river – catch Bulbasaur – the reward for this task is Treecko.
  • Catch the Fire-type Evolution of Eevee – catch Flareon – the reward for this task in Arcanine.
  • Catch the Water-type Pokemon carried in a backpack – catch Psyduck – the reward for this is Magikarp.
  • Catch 10 Jigglypuff, Aipom, or Snubbull – the reward for this task is a Ditto who takes the form of Zubat.
