Spring has arrived in Pokémon Go, and players have the opportunity to capture a variety of theme-specific Pokémon while they’re available for a limited time. To help celebrate the changing of the seasons, you can encounter several different Pokémon, and some of them may have a flower crown wrapped around their head. Some Pokémon with this cute appearance change are returning from previous events, and some are brand new.
The Pokémon you can find more frequently during the event include:
- Exeggcute
- Buneary
- Marill
- Mareep
- Pikachu
- Torchic
- Chansey
Of the choices above, Buneary and Pikachu will have flower crowns on their heads for trainers to capture. You can potentially catch them as shiny versions, too. Pichu and Togepi with flower crowns are available through 2-kilometer eggs, and they can also be wearing flower crowns. Any hatched during the Spring 2020 event will have twice as many candies for the Pokémon than they generally do.
For those who find themselves extra lucky, they may be able to locate a shiny Exeggcute that can evolve into a shiny version of Exeggcutor.
There are 5 tasks tied to the event where trainers need to hatch eggs before the end of it. Each time a trainer hatches an egg they receive a Pokémon encounter reward.
Task | Reward |
Hatch 1 egg | Eevee with a flower crown (potential shiny) |
Hatch 2 eggs | Azumarill |
Hatch 3 eggs | Alolan Exeggutor (potential shiny) |
Hatch 4 eggs | Chansey (potential shiny) |
Hatch 5 eggs | Audino |
The event starts on Apr. 9 at 8:00am and goes until Apr. 16 until 10:00pm in your local timezone. Make sure to complete these tasks before time runs out. Plus, if you use a lucky egg during the event, it will last for an hour. The item doubles any experience points earned while active. It’s a great time to pop any lucky eggs you’ve been sitting on to earn additional experience points.
