Pokémon Rumble Rush released yesterday, May 15, in Australia. But as of writing, it is currently unavailable in the United States Google Play Store. So, when will the new game roll out to the US? We have some details.

Pokémon Rumble Rush is a mobile game currently available on Android’s Google Play Store in Australia. In the game, players must explore islands to discover and battle Pokémon. Those Pokémon can equip special Gears to make them stronger, allowing players to take on Super Bosses throughout the game’s world. Unfortunately, the game is currently unavailable in nearly every region of the real world, including the US.

A post on the US version of the Pokémon website indicates the game will be “coming soon to the rest of the world” outside Australia. However, the post does not detail which regions the game will launch in next or when the US will get the game.

This isn’t the first time a mobile Pokémon game has had a confusing rollout period. Pokémon GO first released in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States on July 6, 2016, before releasing in other countries over the course of more than two years.

To compare, the US was not one of the first countries to get Pokémon: Magikarp Jump in 2017. Magikarp Jump released as a surprise in May 2017, just like Pokémon Rumble Rush. Magikarp Jump launched first in Italy on May 17, 2017, followed by several Asian countries on May 23, then the US and other North American countries on May 24, before finishing on May 25 with Australia and the rest of Europe, according to Bulbapedia. In an even worse comparison, the digital board game Pokémon Duel launched as a Japanese exclusive on April 19, 2016. It did not launch in the US until more than nine months later, on January 24, 2017, according to Wikipedia.

If the launch of other mobile Pokémon titles can serve as any indication, it may take anywhere from several days to several months for Pokémon Rumble Rush to release in the US. Given that Pokémon Rumble Rush is not being peddled as an exclusive to any region, it will likely make its way to the US sooner rather than later, hopefully within a few days or a couple of weeks.
