Predator: Hunting Grounds is the latest in a long line of Predator video games, and one that looks to replicate the fear of being hunted by one of those iconic alien trophy hunters.
IllFonic’s upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC title is primarily an asymmetrical multiplayer game, but we’ve heard nothing about a possible single-player campaign coming to the game. It would be fun to tackle the Predator as someone like Major “Dutch,” but will Predator: Hunting Grounds have a single-player mode?
Does Predator Hunting Grounds have a single-player mode?
The short answer is no. At least, not right now. Predator: Hunting Grounds is a multiplayer-centric game. It pits one player — who controls the Predator — against a squad of four other players, as Marines, to see who will come out on top across a certain number of matches.
As it’s a multiplayer title, there’s no single-player campaign for you to get to grips with. The IllFonic team has been hard at work developing its online multiplayer-focused game, and there’s been no mention of a solo mode being patched in.
That said, never say never to a single-player campaign coming in the future if IllFonic thinks it’s worthwhile. The U.S.-based game developer is the studio behind Friday the 13th: The Game, which began life as a multiplayer title too.
To coincide with Friday the 13th: The Game‘s one-year anniversary, though, IllFonic patched through a new single-player option for those who wanted to try something different. A single-player challenge mode was patched in on May 24, 2018, and added to the game’s offline mode, where bots take on the roles of the game’s counselors, that arrived Dec. 18, 2017.
Of course, that means you could be waiting 12 months for Predator: Hunting Grounds to implement similar modes. For the time being, though, the game is exclusively a multiplayer title, and there is no single-player component.
