Rage 2 has a weapon for all occasions, as long as you need those occasions to end with something dying. In this guide, we show you how to get all of them.
Rage 2 has a pretty decent variety of weapons, offering plenty of options but without filling your weapon wheel with pointless bloat. You also get to carry all of them at once, so there is no messing around trying to decide what you want to bring. You can just load up on ammo, and have access to all manner of destructive potential. In this guide, we show you where to get them all.
All Weapon Locations In Rage 2
Sidewinder Pistol
This is your starter weapon, so you don’t have to do anything special to get it. It’s a pretty sweet weapon, so don’t make the mistake of ignoring it. It can fire in burst mode, or a single heavy shot if you ADS.
Ranger Assault Rifle
You pick this up from a fallen Ranger in the first mission of the game, so once again you don’t need to do anything special to get it. The Ranger AR does what all Assault Rifles in a game do; it provides a perfectly versatile weapon that is useful in all situations.
Combat Shotgun
You get the combat shotgun during the first mission for Marshall at the Gunbarrel settlement. You will find it in an Ark down in the sewers. This thing is great, stripping armor or obliterating weaker enemies if you get up close to them. ADS will fire a single, hard-hitting slug that will pop the head off most enemies. I think this is the weapon I have used the most so far, as it just feels right to double jump around and shotgun things to death.
Smart Rocket Launcher
You can find the Smart Rocket Launcher in the Strongbox Ark in the Torn Plains. We have a full guide on how to get this particular destructive piece of equipment here. Once again, it comes with two firing modes. The first is your traditional rocket launcher; the second will lock on to multiple enemies and fire a cluster of rockers.
Grav-Dart Launcher
You can find the Grav-Dart Launcher at the Needle Falls Ark in The Wilds. Once again, we have a full guide on how to unlock this weapon here. If you like tossing enemies around, the Grav-Dart Launcher is for you, but it lacks to stopping the power of some of the other weapons in the game. It really can be fun to use, however.
Firestorm Revolver
You can find the Firestorm Revolver in the Dank Catacomb Ark in the Sekreto Wetlands. That is Dank as in wet, not dank as in awesome. We have a full guide on how to get it that you can read here. The Firestorm Revolver will cause area-of-effect fire damage, so it is great for bunches of smaller enemies.
Hyper-Cannon
The Hyper-Cannon can be found at the Greenhaven Ark in the Wilds. We have a full guide for it here but be warned, this one is tough! The Hyper-Cannon falls into the railgun category and will shred enemies that are dumb enough to stand behind each other. The ADS firing mode will charge up to do ridiculous single target damage.
Charged Pulse Cannon
You can find the Charged Pulse Cannon at the Shrouded Vault Ark in the Dune Sea. Getting this one is a little more involved that just killing enemies at the Ark. Lucky for you, we have a full guide on how to get it here. This is a great weapon, highly versatile, and will see you through just about any encounter in the game.
BFG 9000
The BFG 9000 is only available to people who purchased the Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition. You can read a full guide on how to get it here because it won’t just automatically be in your inventory.
The Settler Pistol
The Settler Pistol is available to those who pre-ordered Rage 2, or who purchase the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions. You will need to complete a special mission to get your hands on it. We have a full guide written up on how to get it.
And that’s all the weapons in Rage 2. If any new weapons come to the game in the form of some DLC, you can be sure we will have a full guide on how to get them as quickly as we can, and will keep this list updated with any changes.
