Rage 2 has released, and if you’re eager to jump into the game, you can do so right now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or you can fire it up on your PC. Whatever device you play it on, you can get into it right now and start running through the game’s campaign, while also exploring the neon-filled world. For those who are looking to find the best experience available to them in Rage 2, you may want to mess around with the game’s difficulty settings. To do is a little bit out of the way, but we’ll cover how to get to those settings so you can ensure the game meets your preferred gaming experience level.

Rage 2 Difficulty Settings

Where Do You Go?

The first location you have the opportunity to choose your game’s difficulty setting is right before the game starts. You’re going to get asked to select one of the four available options. However, you may learn that your first choice was not ideal to how you play the game, or the overall mechanics were not what you were expecting, and need to make things easier or more difficult.

To do so, all you need to do is hit the respective menu on your controller. For those using the PlayStation 4, you need to hit the Options button, and those on the Xbox One need to hit the menu button. Once you’re on the main screen, you need to go to the Settings area. After that, you’ll need to head to General Settings, where you’re going to find to the difficulty options. You’ll pick that option and then have the opportunity to switch between the first four options listed at the beginning game. Based on your experience, you’re going to want to change to the individual choice to make your experience of Rage 2 more enjoyable.

What Do The Difficulty Choices Mean?

There are four different options in Rage 2. Each has a brief overview of what they can mean a player is going to contend with during their playthrough. Here are the four difficulty settings for the game:

  • Easy: You expect to find most of the missions extremely easy, with decent levels of ammunition, medical supplies, and unique items.
  • Normal: The typical experience for any video game. You’re not going to see too many options leaning more towards the enemies, because everything is balanced.
  • Hard: You’re going to have a harder time dealing with multiple enemies as their health and damage output is going to go up significantly. Also, you’ll have a harder time finding useful supplies.
  • Nightmare: For those who want a real challenge from Rage 2, you can contend with the strongest, and smartest AI id Software has to offer, ensuring you have a difficulty knowing how many healing items you’re going to receive in the future and give you a run for your money.

You can choose the setting that best fits your playstyle.

Does Rage 2 Have a Difficult Achievement?

No, it does not. If you were worried about having to finish the game on the highest difficulty to receive achievement, you could throw that perspective aside. Bethesda and id Software did not include one with their game, so if you want to run through the game to get as many achievements as possible, you can do so on the easiest difficulty.
