There are over 75 items, and pieces of equipment players can put on their Risk of Rain 2 character during a single run. These valuable items tip the scales towards the player as they go through the game, attempting to make it to the teleporter. One of the more useful items players are going to find is the 57 Leaf Clover. We’re going to break down how you unlock this item, and what it does for you when you have it equipped.

How Do You Unlock It?

The 57 Leaf Clover is a legendary item in Risk of Rain 2. It’s a useful piece of equipment, and getting it is no easy task. To add it to your logbook and to include it into your rotation of items that drop, you need to go through 20 stages during a single run. This challenge means you need to make it to 20 teleporters, face off against the boss at each one, and survive the unrelenting horde as it chases you down as the difficulty continues to rise. You’re likely not going to have this completed on your first run, or even within the early few hours. You’re going to have to build up your logbook with other items and find the character fits your playstyle the best.

One of the ways you can improve your chances of succeeding is by inviting a couple of friends to help you out. You’ll find that working together in a group could propel you forward and ensure you’re not dealing with the massive hordes of enemies by yourself.

What Does The 57 Leaf Clover Do?

When you have the 57 Leaf Clover in your inventory, this item is going to help you by giving every item your character has equipped a second chance to act if they don’t succeed. Let’s break down how this works.

Say you have the Lens-Maker’s Glasses equipped. This item gives your character a 10 percent chance to land a critical hit against an enemy when you hit it with your weapon. Now, because it’s only at 10 percent, you expect it not to hit that critical chance too often. Every time this item does not activate, and you do not land a critical, the 57 Leaf Clover is giving you a second chance for that critical to hit. It looks at the invisible dice the Lens-Maker’s Glasses rolled, seeing it did not succeed, and lets you roll it again to see if you can get a critical hit. The 57 Leaf Clover does this for every item your character has equipped.

It’s important to note; the 57 Leaf Clover does not double the statistics of any piece of equipped. You still have a 10 percent chance to land a critical with the Lens-Maker’s Glasses for each roll, but it is giving you a second chance during every hit. You’re not going to see the item working as you fight, because it’s happening so quickly, but you may notice you’re landing more critical hits than you previously were. Now, if the item succeeds in its roll, the 57 Leaf Clover does not activate. You only receive a second roll if the item did not succeed.

Much like many of the items in Risk of Rain 2, the 57 Leaf Clover does stack. For each clover you have stacked, you’re adding another roll. So if you have two 57 Leave Clovers in your inventory, your items can reroll their attempts up to two times, and this amount increases the more you have equipped.

The 57 Leaf Clover is an incredibly important item, so make sure you ask a friend to join you in Risk of Rain 2 and get it added to your log book.
