Should you pick Regeleki or Regidrago in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra?

It's a hard choice. Let's break it down.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

You have a choice to make in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra expansion. It occurs after you capture Regice, Registeel, and Regirock. These three Pokémon are hidden away in temples on Crown Tundra, and after you capture all of them, you can gain access to the Regeleki and Reidrago temple on the island. However, when you enter the temple, you have a choice to make. You have to pick one of the Regi Pokémon to walk away with. You won’t be able to capture the other one you don’t pick. Which one should you choose?

Both of these Pokémon are different. Regeleki is an Electric-type Pokémon. Regidrago is a Dragon-type. Both of these Pokémon do not have a second type, so they’re extremely definitive in how you may want to use them.

That brings us to their stats. These are probably the most important part, so make sure to think about it when you’re making your decision.

Regeleki

  • Health: 80
  • Attack: 100
  • Defense: 50
  • Special Attack: 100
  • Special Defense: 50
  • Speed: 200

Regidrago

  • Health: 200
  • Attack: 100
  • Defense: 50
  • Special Attack: 100
  • Special Defense: 50
  • Speed: 50

There you have it. Regeleki has the superior speed of the two, but Regidrago has the far better health. Those stats are swapped on both Pokémon, so that’ll be your big deciding factor. Keep in mind these stats are the base choices. It does not take into account their nature, which you can change at your discretion.

Overall, it’s your decision. If you have both Pokémon Sword and Shield, you don’t have to pick it or have a friend who is willing to trade them to you. But outside of having two versions of the game or receiving it a trade, you cannot have both.
