Sony’s “Future of Gaming” event put the competition to shame. The livestream showed off big, upcoming titles, new, fresh games, actual gameplay, all culminating in the appearance of the new console. The console took center stage with its new, sleek design in white, blue, and black. While the PS5 might be the most anticipated part of the livestream, games were the bulk of the reveals. There were many exciting and beautiful titles shown, but here are the biggest.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales
There were a lot of questions around Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales. Is it a DLC? Is it a new game? How does it fit in with the established games. The new game for PS5 is its own stand alone game. There is some speculation that it will bridge the events between Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales is coming to the PlayStation 5 Holiday 2020.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
The universe-saving cat and his robotic partner return in another installment. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart surprised fans with a stunning trailer showing both the creative new multiworld plotline and the unique gameplay. The trailer teases the title characters traversing multiple universes and at one point getting separated, stranding Clank in another universe with another feline-like character. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be on the PlayStation 5 although an official date hasn’t been revealed. It is likely to be ready by 2021 if it already has gameplay to show off.
Resident Evil Village
The horror series continues with yet another installment. Resident Evil Village set the tone with a creative and creepy trailer, showing off the scenery and setting. With updated graphics and sound, Resident Evil Village is going to be an exciting, and terrifying, experience. Resident Evil Village comes to PS5 in 2021.
Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to the beautifully crafted Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Forbidden West follows in the first game’s footsteps with stunning graphics and scenery, seamlessly blending technology and organic life into one believable ecosystem. As of yet, there is no release date for Horizon Forbidden West.
Demon’s Souls
Let’s be clear, Demon’s Souls stole the show. With beautiful graphics building on an already beloved franchise, the remastered Demon’s Souls was an immediate hit. Return to the dark, dismal world of Demon’s Souls with a remastered version of the first installment. Demon’s Souls doesn’t have an official release date.
Many other exciting games are on their way to the new platform, including some new titles from indie developers. The system is already building anticipation with a powerful lineup. The new, sleek look adds to the anticipation.
