Some locations in The Outer Worlds require some leg work before you can go to them. Byzantium is one such place. Byzantium is such a secret that it won’t even show up on your navigation screen when you are choosing a destination for the Unreliable. You’ll need to do some quests, and a lot of talking, to get there.

The Outer Worlds – How To Get To Byzantium

When you get to the Groundbreaker, after you get the Unreliable back in the air, there are a lot of quests to do. Help out everyone you can, and when everything is cleared out, go and visit Udom Bedford at the Halcyon offices. You will need to tell him that you know where to find Phineas Welles. Don’t admit that you know wells. Pick options that imply you want to collect the bounty on him, and have come across his location. You will eventually get the Balance Due quest, and that is when you know you are on the right path.

When you get the quest, go and speak to Gladys at the Rest N Go. You will need to talk to her about getting an official Board seal. This request costs you 8,000 Bits, so prepare for extra work if you don’t have enough.

After you get enough bits, buy the Board seal, then bring that back to Udom Bedford. He will then give you the Navkey to Byzantium. From that point on, Byzantium will be an available location on your navigation screen aboard the Unreliable.

You are now free to travel to Byzantium and complete the quests people want you to do there.
