Answering the question of whether The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will be coming to the Switch.

Last week, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Since episodes of The Final Season released on the Switch concurrently with their PS4, Xbox One, and PC releases, Switch players have been wondering if they can expect this new collection on their console of choice. The answer is a little bit complicated.

The short answer is “no.” The launch of The Telltale Definitive Series has come and gone, and the game is not available on the Switch. Of course, Skybound Games could decide to port the collection over to the Switch at some point. At the moment, however, there doesn’t seem to be any plans to do so.

Luckily, this doesn’t mean that Switch players will be missing out on The Walking Dead. Season One and The Final Season are currently available on the Switch. Additionally, Season Two and A New Frontier currently have Switch ports in the works. These two ports were initially supposed to launch on Sept. 10 alongside the PS4, Xbox One, and PC launch of The Telltale Definitive Series. However, these ports have been delayed. A new release date for them has not yet been announced, but rest assured, they are still coming eventually.

One of the new additions included in The Telltale Definitive Series is the ability to use the Graphic Black art style used in The Final Season on any of the older seasons that it previously was not available for. In lieu of the Definitive Series coming to the Switch, the Graphic Black art style will still be available for Switch ports of the older seasons. When Season Two and A New Frontier come to the Switch, players will be able to turn the Graphic Black style on or off depending on their preferences. Around the time these two ports launch, an update will also come to Season One on the Switch, letting players use Graphic Black on that one, too.

If you’re interested in the other extras that come with the Definitive Series, such as developer commentary, character viewer, or music player, it looks like these won’t be coming to the Switch any time soon. There is also no word yet on when the mini-series The Walking Dead: Michonne will be coming to the Switch.
